About the Property

1487 Vail Valley Drive is a newly constructed mountain contemporary residence that captures the essence of luxury alpine living in the prestigious Vail Golf Course neighborhood. Designed by Kyle Webb of KH Webb Architects with interiors by Studio James and built by Mexamer Construction Group, this five-bedroom, 6,174-square-foot home is a masterfully crafted tribute to its surroundings—intentionally designed to frame epic Gore Range views through expansive walls of glass and precisely aligned sightlines that celebrate the grandeur of the landscape.

The exterior layers natural materials with intention, combining warm cedar siding, honed stone, blackened steel accents, and expansive glass to echo the texture and contrast of the surrounding alpine environment. Inside, the living room, kitchen, and den anchor the main level, flowing effortlessly into one another and out to a connected outdoor terrace. The living room is centered around a fireplace and soaring ceilings, with expansive windows that flood the space with light and panoramic mountain views. Organic silhouettes and textural millwork carry throughout, from the curved, fluted wood island in the chef’s kitchen to the custom built-ins in the den, which also features a suede-lined, lighted TV surround and wood accent wall. Expansive multi-panel glass doors from the living room, kitchen, and den open to the heated terrace, where a high-end grill station with countertop and cabinet storage, a firepit lounge, open-air dining, and a TV zone wired for speakers make this one of Vail’s most complete outdoor living experiences.

The main-level primary suite offers a peaceful escape with mountain views, a fireplace, dual oversized closets, and a discreet washer and dryer. The spa-like bathroom features a soaking tub, glass-enclosed shower, refined finishes, and what may be the most spectacular Gore Range views in the entire Vail Valley.

Each of the five bedrooms includes its ensuite bath, and powder rooms are located on both levels for added convenience.

A private elevator connects the home without a single stair step, accessible directly from both the garage and front entry. The expansive lower level includes a recreation room with soaring ceilings, a game table and lounge space, a fluted wood wet bar, a beautifully finished wine room, and access to a heated patio with hot tub hookup. A bunk room on an adult scale adds flexibility and fun, with queen-sized lower bunks and thoughtful built-ins, making it ideal for children or additional guest accommodations.

Just 300 feet from the free Town of Vail winter shuttle, the home offers unmatched convenience to Golden Peak ski school and lifts, while maintaining the peaceful privacy of a legacy neighborhood. In the summer, walk or bike into Vail Village or enjoy year-round recreation directly across the street at the Vail Golf Club and Nordic Center.

With heated patios, a heated driveway, a two-car garage, and substantial additional outdoor living space, 1487 Vail Valley Drive is designed for effortless living in every season. Whether used as a full-time residence or a seasonal escape, it offers a rare combination of new construction, unparalleled views, and a location that seamlessly connects privacy, proximity, and lifestyle. This is Vail—thoughtfully framed, beautifully lived.

VAIL

The Town of Vail is surrounded by the White River National Forest and Vail Ski Resort: home to world class skiing, biking, hiking, fishing, golfing, shopping, and dining. The town of Vail has a total area of 4.5 square miles with the Gore Creek flowing through the center of town. Elevation average is around 8,150 feet above sea level and visible from the top of Vail Mountain is the world famous “Mount of the Holy Cross”. Nestled among the stunning mountains, meandering rivers and streams, lush forests, and aspen fields, Vail always feels intimate with splendid alpine villages and friendly people. Modeled on European ski towns, many of which are car-free, the town is partially pedestrianized. The Town of Vail operates the largest free shuttle bus system in the United States and has one hybrid-electric bus. With an incredibly well developed culinary center and a variety of restaurants, Vail is also developing a cultural center, with various art and music venues active throughout the summer. Ford Amphitheater hosts several key events throughout the summer.

Piney River Ranch is only a few miles north of the Vail area.  “Piney” as people often refer to it, is set on the edge of Piney Lake, and nestled at the foot of the majestic Gore Range, Piney River Ranch is a private, forty-acre Rocky Mountain retreat, long known as a favorite wedding and day-trip destination.   Piney is surrounded by thousands of acres of backcountry within the White River National Forest.  Piney offers a variety of activities from fly-fishing, hiking, canoeing, stand-up paddle boarding, waterfalls or simply relaxing in the gorgeous natural environment.

The Vail Golf Course presents golfers with a unique 18-hole, par 71 experience that is open to the public. When snow blankets the Vail Golf Club, it becomes the full-service Vail Nordic Center. Glide along 17 kilometers of daily-groomed skate and classic track, or snowshoe on 10 kilometers of scenic trails. For a new experience, check out our 13K of fat bike trails and fat bike rentals!

The close proximity to I-70 makes it an easy jaunt to Denver International Airport and the Greater Denver area to take in shopping, professional sporting events and other cultural events offered by the Front Range area.  And the Vail Jet Center is just 31 miles west and offers flights to and from many cities making Vail one of the most accessible mountain getaways with high level cultural events throughout the year.

VAIL GOLF COURSE

vail golf course

Located in the heart of the Vail Valley, the Vail Golf Course Neighborhood is one of my favorite areas that perfectly blends the peaceful neighborhood vibe with stunning views of the majestic Gore Mountain Range mountains and proximity to Vail Village’s via the Golden Peak ski base area. This golf course community holds historical significance, being home to some of the valley's earliest residents who played vital roles in shaping Vail's original businesses. The neighborhood's appeal lies in its distinctive location that features the only bus route (aside from the Vail Village route) that conveniently drops residents at the ski school and slopes rather than the transportation center. With the shortest route among the free Vail shuttle options, this area offers enhanced convenience. In the summer, residents can effortlessly walk or bike to Vail Village, enjoying cultural events at the Ford Amphitheater, located between Vail Village and the Vail Golf Course in addition to everything Vail and Lionshead have to offer. The Vail Golf Course is one of the best public golf courses in the United States and boasts Gore Creek meandering throughout, dramatic Gore Range views. The golf course turns into an incredible cross country ski area in the winter time and the clubhouse offers a restaurant and venue witht the same dramatic views.

The Vail Golf Course real estate stands as some of the most coveted property in the Vail Valley, offering a unique blend of convenience while providing the peace and tranquility of of a small neighborhood, and all with a rich historical legacy.
